Congratulations on your Savage. I think you will really be happy with her. I really thought that this was gonna be a transition bike but I ended up liking it so much, now I find myself having a hard time wanting to get another bike and doing away with the Savage. Its so fun and easy to maintain. One of the things you should watch for on the older Savages that I didn't know when I got it was that the cylinder has a decrompression solinoid, and it has an adjustment on it, if its out of adjustment it memicks a dead battery. Don't understand why this is but I thought for the longest time that I had an electrical problem and I finally took it to the dealer and they ran a series of electrical test and found nothing, then they checked out other things and found the soliniod to be the problem, did the adjustment and been running great ever sense. You did the right thing coming here before you bought the bike and even more over after you get it. This place has been so helpful. The guys to watch for answers from are Max,WD,hogryder,and a few others (forgive me If I forgot ya)they seem to me to be the most knowledgeable and one of them have always givin the right answer for every problem I have incountered.
